Bridgtown Concert Band is a wind ensemble made up of musicians of all ages and ability from throughout the Staffordshire region. With woodwind, brass and percussion a fantastic sound is created, which can be both powerful and dramatic, yet also delicate and intimate. The band is based in the Midlands, but over its 23 year history has travelled extensively not only in Britain but also abroad. In 2013, Bridgtown Concert Band entered its 20th anniversary year and celebrated this with a spectacular concert in February. Listen to some extracts from that concert below. We are always looking for new members to join in with us and play! We are a friendly and sociable band, with a mixture of both age and ability. We welcome anyone that can play a Brass or Woodwind instrument at Grade 2 standard and above.
There are no auditions, we just need enthusiastic and committed players who can regularly attend Monday evening rehearsals.
Whilst we encourage new members to all sections, we are particularly interested in recruiting:
Clarinets / Flutes
Tenor Saxophone / Alto Saxophone
Lower Brass / Trumpets
Rehearsals every Monday night 7 – 9 pm
at Bridgtown Social Club
170 Walsall Road
(Except bank holidays)
We play all types of music from swing to pop, from DixielandJazz to soundtracks and regularly play gigs in and around the Staffordshire area. We have also travelled further afield in the UK and abroad, having also had several successful foreign tours in Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.
So, whether you are fairly new to playing or have an instrument in the loft that you want to dust off, please give us a call and arrange to stop by one of our Monday night rehearsals to listen in!
